Sunday Stealing

"Welcome back to Sunday Stealing. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. We will be very honest about our theft: We always let the owner of the selected blog know that we have ripped their meme off. In turn, we will always provide a link to their site. Join in the fun and rip it off of us every Sunday. And stop by fellow thieves blogs and have some fun... Cheers to all us thieves!"

This week's Meme was originally posted by Bikramyogachick @ 60 Day Bikram Yoga Challenge

A Fall Meme

1. It’s not really fall in until... What did you need to do in the waning days of summer for it to feel complete?
To take the kids swimming as much as possible and start cleaning up the backyard and garage.

2. A person I know was wrong for me but about whom I frequently thought after a break-up was... Mark

3. If you could only attend one major sporting event what would it be? Hockey

4. Assuming that you write an anonymous or partially anonymous blog, by what non-physically identifying characteristics might you be identified in a bar? LOL! I have no idea!

5. Most blogs cover some sort of niche – personal, political, dating, culinary, etc. What topic, if any, would you like to address on your blog but doesn’t fit into your niche? Politics

6. If you could manipulate the time space continuum and give as many as three pieces of advice to a younger version of yourself, what advice would you give and to what age of you?
I would have given myself the advice of staying in school and getting my diploma, when I was 16yrs old. I would have given myself the advice of not getting married just because I was pregnant, when I was 19yrs old. I would have given myself the advice of not taking that special someone back, when I was 31yrs old.

7. Who among your friends do you really wish had a blog because their stories, or perspective on something ought to be shared?
I think Stacia and my mom would both offer a wonderful and new perspective to many!

8. If you were to take an e-cation (vacation from the trappings of our electronic world,) and assuming that employment obligations would allow it, how long of a break could you take?
I would take a few weeks.

What would you miss the most, the least?
I would miss my friends, bogging and FB the most and I would miss email the least.

9. On September 11th of this year, I attended a couple of parties and was somewhat conflicted by the fact that this ignoble anniversary shall pass with it being just another day in the eyes of many (and in some ways my own eyes as well.) Thoughts?
I feel the same, I think we should all do something that day to remember!

10. How high are your walls? Pretty damn high!

Who was the last person to scale them? Jeremy

What tools should would-be climbers have on their belt?
Truth, honesty, respect and a good sense of humor.

11. The sexiest thing a man or a woman can say to you (or has said to you) is: I am going to wash the dishes and the laundry! ;)

22 of 52

Princesses birthday was Sunday she turned nine years old! I cannot believe that she has reached this milestone and I am even more freaked out by the prospect of next years birthday when she will turn 10! It just does not seem at all possible the years have passed by this quickly....

The one thing she specifically requested was a large stuffed pig that we had seen at the grocery store a few weeks back. At the time I did not have the funds to pick it up and she was with me so I started looking again last Monday. I spent quite a while in the car and had gone to at least 10 different stores this week.

Saturday, Cameron and I stopped by the HEB Plus close to us one more time to see if they had restocked the stuffed animals and low and behold there was the piggy!! I yelled to Cameron "Pink, pink grab it and see if it is a Pig!!" We were both so excited to have finally found it!
"52 Weeks is a year long challenge for YOU to be in a picture once a week for 52 weeks. We are always the ones behind the camera, this is YOUR chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with our family. Oh, you can just jump in now with 1 of 52, you're not getting off that easy! Now go take a picture!"

Tell Me Thursday

The Wordless Wednesday photo's I used this week are of the cupcakes we made for Princesses class to enjoy Monday. The first picture was of the batter as we mixed and got it all ready to make into cupcakes. The second picture is of the first batch of cupcakes before they were iced.

Princesses 9th birthday was Sunday and she was a very happy girl when she went to bed. :) I went on a hunt to find the one present she wanted more than any other......a big stuffed pig!! Took me forever to find it, but I did! She had a great day and as requested we had homemade pizza for dinner. We all had a blast making all the cupcakes. We made 60 cupcakes on Sunday evening for both girls classes. Spunky's birthday was last month before school started so we made them all at the same time.
The cupcakes all iced and ready to go!
Princess opening up her presents! :)
Spunky envious of the present! lol
The pig that took FOREVER to find!!!
Princess with the new guitar Grandma bought her for her birthday! She has wanted a guitar for a few years now, but is finally old enough to appreciate it. She was beyond thrilled! :)

Thursday Thunks

A brief description of the meme:

"We pick a subject, and your job is to interpret it anyway you want. Write about it on your blog... simple as that. Maybe you can interpret it as a picture - we don't care!"

Now on to the questions and of course my answers!

1. Does soap or shampoo have to really lather up for you to feel that it cleaned thoroughly? No, but I like it when it does. :)

2. Do you have a long standing joke with someone that you still laugh about every time you talk to that person? Yes ;)

3. Share something that happened to you this past week that was unusual. Hummm Jeremy went to the grocery store! lol

4. If you dropped a purple crayon and a green crayon off a roof, which would melt faster in the sun?
I am gonna pick the green crayon because my favorite is purple and I don't want it to melt fast, even though I know they would both melt about the same speed! lol

5. You are standing in line (grocery store, bank, etc.), and someone gets in line behind you that stinks. The stink is so bad that people in line in front of you turn around and look to see if you are the one causing the stink. Do you cover your nose, hold your breath, breathe through your mouth or just get out of line altogether?
I would probably cover my nose and breath through my mouth until I could no longer stand it!

6. If you dropped your cell phone in the toilet, would you fish it out? If so, how much soap would you use to wash your hands afterwards?
In a toilet at my house, yes I would fish it out and wash my hands with hot water and LOTS of soap for at least 10mins! Would I fish it out of a public toilet........HELL NO!

7. Sydney Australia dust storm (link). How long do you think it would take you to clean your house after that sort of dust storm?
OMGosh way to freaking long!!

8. Do you think you can dance? Nope lol

9. You are out to eat and someone across the room is staring at you. Do you get paranoid, try to ignore them, or go find out why they are staring at you?
I get paranoid and drive the people I am eating with crazy enough that they get up and ask the person why they are staring! lol

10. Come up with a crazy, wacky Thursday Thunk question.
If there's a speed of sound and a speed of light is there a speed of smell?

THE SPOILED UNDER-35 CROWD!!! LMAO!!!!

You will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning....Uphill... barefoot.. BOTH ways!

Yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know How good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take, like, a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!

Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! Nowhere was safe!

There were no MP3' s or Napsters! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone.

Cause - that's how we rolled, dig?

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mum, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen..forever!

And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel! NO REMOTES!!! There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning.

Do you hear what I'm saying!?!

We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove! Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980 or before!

Regards, The Over 35 Crowd

Oprah's Kickoff Party Dance

I saw this today on Facebook, one of my friends posted it and I had to share it with all of you! It is really neat all the people that participated in the dancing, the way they moved together and surprised Oprah!

Saturday 9

Crazy Sam over at Saturday 9 posts 9 questions every Saturday. "Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment."

1. If everyone liked each other, what would we complain about? That is a very good question, maybe the weather?

2. If you were most powerful person in the world, how would you use that power?
I would use the power to bring about world peace! One can hope and wish right!?

3. If had exactly one year to live, what are the three things you'd want to do before you died?
Wow I answered a question very similar to this the other day. I would want to make sure that my children were well taken care of and NOT split up. I would want to take them on a family vacation because we have not been able to do that yet. Lastly I would want to make sure they know how much I love them and make tapes (audio and visual) for them so that they would never feel alone and without me.

4. If you could change one thing about the world, what would that one thing be?
I would change the need for War, although I know that is not truly possible.

5. If you could take one thing back, what would that one thing be?
Wow one thing out of all of them........I would not have taken J back when I did.

6. If you were stuck on an island forever but had all the water, food and shelter you needed. What would be the three other things you'd bring with you?
A big boat so we could visit family etc, my kiddos and a gun and unlimited ammo.

7. If the internet didn't exist, would the quality of life go up or down? I think it would do both to be honest.

8. If a million dollars fell off a back of a truck, would you keep it? Currently in my situation, sadly I would keep it.

9. What is something you said, something you stole, something you did wrong?
Huh? Not sure I understand so I will just go with it......I always say the right thing at the wrong time. I stole a lot in high school and feel badly for it! I have done lots of things wrong the first thing that comes to mind is not finishing high school, it is SO much harder now!!
