My three words for today sums up the way I am feeling about life right now. The kids and I have started taking our walks on more of a regular basis, we have all been eating better consistently for months now, Jeremy is almost totally healed and I really feel like things are on the up and up!

So for us as a family we are break(ing) new ground!

Ok so that last word is "glasses" if you could not tell! lol He broke his glasses almost a month ago and due to insurance issues we had to wait to get the new ones until yesterday. He did an AWESOME job of being incredibly careful with the broken ones so that they would last!! I am extremely proud of him and thank god for super glue! lol

He picked out the new ones himself as I stood by thinking "Oh please pick out a decent pair!" I do not want to be one of those mothers who do not let their children grow up and make their own decisions. Especially something that is really not all that crucial like glasses, after all I do not have to wear them. Of course I do not want him to silly either, but I think he picked out a cute pair. The funny part is they look a lot like mine except a different color. :)

We filed our taxes a few weeks ago and have since anxiously awaited our return. It is almost time for the check to arrive and I am SO ready to be able to take care of a few things. We may even be able to mess around with a bit of it! WOOHOO! :)

Normally we have the Flu shot right at the beginning of the season, that way the boy and now Spunky will be protected since they both have asthma. This year though with Jeremy being in the hospital, the holidays and multiple other things going on, I totally spaced the Flu shots. Serves me right too cause we now have the Flu, all of us with the exception of Jeremy thank goodness! He needs no other issues to contend with right now. This is what it look like to treat a family of five with the Flu!

Today we received the boy's Band photo for this year and it is one of the best photos he has taken in quite some time! He just looks so handsome and grownup, I cannot get over it! They grow up so fast and I just keep forgetting to slow down and take it all in. I often think where did the time go? How did he get so big so quickly?

Yesterday I took all three kids to the dentist at the same time. It is honestly easier that way because the office is a bit out of town for us and I would hate to have to drive it three separate times. It was not actually that frustrating this time, which is awesome! I love the new dentist's office it has a game room for the kids, a parent's lounge with a laptop, tv, coffee/tea etc. It rocks!! There were no cavities to be reported and they were all well behaved! The dentist's assistant joked with me about how Spunky is "full of personality" after she told them that she always brushes her teeth until they squeak!! lol

Honestly I have to tell you it was harder to get them all out of school in time to be at the appointment. The boy is in a different school this year and so I wrote him a note to give his teacher at the beginning of class so he could find out what to do. When I got there he was not where I asked him to meet me so of course I went off to the office. They let me know that he should have brought the note to them and then they would have had him meet me. One thing lead to another and off I drove to the other side of the school to see if he was waiting for me there and he was. So off we went to get the girls in the cold wet weather, did I mention that Texans cannot drive in cold wet weather.................. We get to the girl's school and of course they are not waiting in the office for us because you know that would be too easy! lol Since we were at least 10mins behind schedule, I was trying my best to hurry up and be careful all at the same time and we made it barely on time and all alive!

My youngest was diagnosed with Asthma this week and it has been scary for all of us. She has always been my perfectly healthy child(the only one) with no allergies to meds, no surgeries, no major issues at all until Tuesday! It caught me totally off guard considering the reason we went in was because she was having heart pains, which scared me completely to death!! Turns out they were chest pains not heart pains!!

I am glad that we know what is wrong and that it is something that is treatable, but it still does not make it any less scary for all of us. She has seen her brother deal with asthma, have attacks and all the things that he has to go through and with her only being 6yrs old that was weighing heavily on her little mind. So last night her and I sat down and had a big talk about what it means for her and I tried my best to calm her fears. It was really hard to watch her cry and explain to me why she was so scared especially I think because she is so little. So I thought is fitting to take a picture of her new cute "bear" spacer and her new inhaler!

After our crazy day yesterday and the fact that we did not have a very good dinner, I had to make a good home cooked meal tonight. So here is a picture of our awesome spread of Lasagna, Garlic bread and Spinach salad with all the fixings! I LOVE tortilla strips on my salad!
