Monday Morning Meme
Gosh I struggle with this, I have a really hard time pulling myself out of a funk and I know that it is just me being stubborn. One thing that works for me is taking a shower while listening to my favorite music, that usually works to help my mood improve. If I do not have time for a shower than I eat some chocolate! LOL!
2. How long have you been blogging? Who is your target audience? How often, if at all, do you think about quitting or taking an extended break?
I have been blogging since June of 2007 so about 18months. I have no idea who is my target audience. Anyone who wants to read what I write! lol I took a break for a few months back in the summer because things were well just nuts here at home and I was not sure in what direction I wanted to take this blog. I think it is normal to want to take breaks and of course all good things come to an end at some point.
3. Think back over the past year. Tell us: five good things that happened in your life, three bad things that happened in your life.
Now go through your blog archives and pick five posts that you personally liked/resonated with you, or, you would like to share with your new readers. Link to them, please.
Wow ok let's see the past year.........
Let's start with good things, we got a new garbage disposal! lol
We received Max my sweet little kitty Dec 07' and I have to tell you I love her so much! She is my little sweetie all the way. Come to think of it I should have used her in question #1, if I need to calm down I cuddle on little Max and I feel all better!
I got to meet my wonderful friends Vicky, Jennifer and Tina in real life! It sounds so funny to put it that way, but that is the way it happened. We met on our mommy forum online gosh almost 2yrs ago and have been friends since then. They are such beautiful, funny and great people to be around! It was awesome after talking to them for so long on the internet and the phone to finally be able to give them all a huge hug and talk to them in person!
My little brother Chip graduated High School! I have to tell you that this was one of the proudest days I can remember and I know that sounds silly, but he is the first and only one of us to have had a Graduation Ceremony. My sister and I both have GED's because we could not buckle down and get our education taken care of at the right time. Chip I am VERY proud of you and I love you very much!
I was able to reconnect with a long lost friend of 13yrs! We lost contact about 6.5 yrs ago and finally found each other again back in April of this year. I was so incredibly HAPPY to find her again and to find out she had another kiddo while we were out of touch! I love her dearly and I wish her all the best! :)
and on to the bad
Merlin died just this last month and that was really hard. He was such a wonderful man and will be missed very much by so many!
Jeremy ended up in the hospital again due to his legs and well that really sucks! Added in with baby momma drama and well the whole thing goes to shit!
Lastly the boy's dad was a total Fxxkwad about Christmas again this year, which I guess we should have seen coming, but it is really hard to explain to an 11yr old who really loves his dad!
I went through my blog archives and these are the five posts I would like to share with you all! :)
I picked this post because it was one of my favorites from the Wrapped Emotions site.
Wrapped Emotions: We are going to get more comfortable
I chose this post because we are having this for dinner tonight! It is a tradition of ours to make this soup after having a Christmas or Thanksgiving Ham! :)
Split Pea and Ham Soup
I wanted to share this post with you all because it is a sweet and touching poem!
How Preemie Moms Are Chosen
Had to put this one in here cause I got a laugh out of this terribly horrible no good awful day and I had forgotten that it happened! lol
Excuse me I have to vent a second!
Last, but certainly not least the Christmas Meme from last year!
A Christmas Meme
4. It’s a new year - a new beginning. Please finish this sentence: I will work very hard to make the following three things happen in 2009:
I will try my best to be more patient, loving and kind while Jeremy is going through his incredibly grumpy stages due to his leg!
I will try my best to lose some of this weight that has just come out of nowhere! *rolls eyes*
Last, but not least I will try my best to gain control of my garage!!!!!!
Ok so I may come in here and changes these cause right now nothing serious comes to mind well except the first!

Friday Fill-Ins #104
1. I must or would at least like to see Venice, Italy before I die.
2. You can't stop, you can't stop the beat!
3. I wish I never had to buy Tampons or Sanitary Napkins again. lol
4. My children are what has helped me change my life.
5. I know the song See You Again by Miley Cyrus by heart. LOL!
6. If I weren't so afraid, I would be much more involved in our community! My anxiety really messes with me and I start to worry way to much about silly little things!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching The Dark Night with the boy(he got it for Christmas) and the hubby after the littlest ones are in bed, tomorrow my plans include cleaning out the garage a bit and Sunday, I want to take all the Christmas decorations down!

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered. Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.
Just then the doorbell rang, an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'
And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Monday Morning Meme
Hummm I would first take a nice warm shower and see if that helped me to get sleepy again. If not than I might come downstairs and decorate some more for Christmas morning, maybe get crazy and bake some bread! lol Who knows I LOVE my sleep and I think I might just be insane if I woke up at 3:00AM on Christmas morning only to find that I was not able to go back to sleep!
2. What is the one attribute that you have that your significant other struggles with? Why do you think he/she struggles with it? Now tell us one attribute that your significant other has that you wish you possessed.
He struggles with the fact that I give myself freely to help others! It bothers him that I willing to drop what I am doing to help my mom or really any close friend or family member even if I already have a lot on my plate! I feel like even if it adds a bit more to my plate that sometimes family needs to lean on each other!
I wish I was half as patient and level headed as he is most of the time!!
3. What advice do you have for your next door neighbor? (This would be a good time to air your grievances - or - praise something about your neighbor). Begin with: Dear Neighbor, There is something I’d like to tell you …
Dear Neighbor,There are some things I'd like to tell you.......starting with you dog. If you do not want to hear it bark neither do your we so instead of standing on your back porch at 7AM yelling at the dog to stop barking maybe you should bring the stupid dog INSIDE or maybe getting rid of the dog would be a good option! Since you obviously do not care about the animal which is why is stays outside barking at ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT!!! On a good note I really enjoy how sweet, respectful and well behaved you daughters are they are always a pleasure to have in my house. One thing I wonder about it is why they are always grounded or in trouble? Are they really that hard to handle? I have never seen children that young(6 and 9) be grounded so often, just seems odd to me I guess! Oh and do you think it is possible for you to drive down the street at the speed limit or at least not driving like a bat out of hell!? There are children that live on this street including yours so you would think you would drive safely!
Thanks I needed to get that off my chest! As you can tell I am not fond of my neighbors! lol
4. If you could live yesterday all over again, what would you do anything differently?
I would have been more understanding with my mother.

Friday Fill-Ins #103
2. The first Noel, the angel did say, was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay, in fields as they lay keeping their sheep...
3. Go tell it on the mountain, Over the hills and everywhere.
4. It came upon the midnight clear, Peace on the earth, goodwill to men...
5. Have yourself a Merry little Christmas, Let your heart be light.
6. And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing right within your heart!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to T-man getting here for our weekend, tomorrow my plans include making the Santa Hats and Gingerbread House with the kiddos and Sunday, I want to take lots of pictures while Grandma makes cookies for Santa with the kids! :)

Monday Morning Meme
Jeremy being in the hospital, the boy and his book report and multiple other things I dare not talk about are stressing me out right now! Uhm well I cannot solve any of these on my own actually, I will just have to ride it out and see what happens. Jeremy will be home tomorrow so that helps with how I feel and the boy well he knew when his report was due so he will have to either ask his teacher for more time or turn it in a day late! It was his responsibility not mine. As far as how I cope with the stress I am not sure to be honest!
2. When was the last time you made a compromise with someone? Tell us about it. How did that compromise turn out?
I honestly just cannot think right now so I am gonna use an easy one. I compromised with the kids this evening when it came to a snack before dinner. You see I had been at the hospital for a few hours visiting DH and my mom had been babysitting the kids. She took them to the park and then to the store for them to pick out a snack. They of course picked out a bunch of crap(fruit snacks, chocolate & chips) and then the boy realized what time is was and told grandma "Mom never lets us have snacks this close to dinner so maybe we should wait!". When I got home the kids ran down the stairs all excited asking if they could have some of the snacks they bought. So we decided together that they could have two pieces of chocolate before dinner if they promised to eat good and we would have some of the chips with dinner! It all worked out well and they ate all their dinner!
3. What modern day convenience would you be willing to give up forever? Why would you give up that particular convenience and how would you give it up?
Oh wow how to choose this is just well..........hard! I have been thinking about this for quite some time and I am still not sure what to choose! I am going to have to say I would go without my cell phone without too much of a problem! I would give it up because honestly I do not NEED it, it's just a convenience. Yes it does make things easier like this past week while Jeremy was in the hospital and there were so many other things going on, but I could live without it! How would I give it up? I have a Net 10 prepaid phone so I would donate it or give it to the boy! lol
4. If you found yourself locked inside a public restroom stall, what would you do? Climb over the door? Or crawl under the door? Tell us about the worst public restroom experience you’ve ever had.
Omgosh I am not sure what I would do if I was locked inside a public restroom stall! It would depend on so many things how much time I had, if I was in a hurry, where I was like a nice restaurant or a gas station etc! If I had nothing to do and had all the time in the world I would probably wait for the next person to come in and see if they could help. Of course if no one came in for a long time I would have to do something else and I think I would crawl under the door before over because as gross as the floor is that would be better than falling from the top! LOL!
The worst experience I have ever had having to do with a public restroom would have to be the time I dropped my purse in a portable toilet at the Renaissance festival! I had to retrieve it because I had way too much money in it to just leave it and my licence etc YUCK!!!!!!

Marathon Love
With all that is going on with Jeremy and his legs it really makes me think about how much I love him and really hits home for me right now! I would go through so much for him and no matter what I will love him with all my heart and soul forever even if he lost his legs and I know he would do the same for me!
If you can you should watch this show because it is an awesome story!!

I have really enjoyed playing World of Warcraft over the past few years. It can definitely be an addictive game at times, but I find it nice to be able to escape into an alternate reality and away from all the troubles of real life on occasion! So I whipped out all three WOW boxes and took a picture! lol

I am worried and I hate him being gone!
So this will be his fourth skin graft and dammit I am determined to help this one heal as much as possible!!! My mom lives across the street this time so we have told him he is not allowed to even move off the couch except to pee during his recovery this time. lol Plus the kids are much older this time so they can help! I really hope it works this time I am not sure what will happen if it does not............................
I am so scared for him for so many reasons, I am so upset and sick to my stomach. I want him here next to me and I have no idea how I am gonna sleep without him here. All I can think about is how much pain he is in and how uncomfortable and unhappy he is by himself in the hospital! All I want to do is cry and I have to sit here all normal because I do not want the kids to freak out!

12 Surprising And Productive Brain Exercises
"Here are Dorothea Brande's twelve mental exercises. Note: she wrote these in 1936, so you need to adapt of few of them.
1. Spend an hour each day without saying anything except in answer to direct questions, in the midst of the usual group, without creating the impression that you're sulking or ill. Be as ordinary as possible. But do not volunteer remarks or try to draw out information.
2. Think for 30 minutes a day about one subject exclusively. Start with five minutes.
3. Write a letter without using the words I, me, mine, my.
4. Talk for 15 minutes a day without using I, me, my, mine.
5. Write a letter in a "successful" or placid tone. No misstatements, no lying. Look for aspects or activities that can be honestly reported that way.
6. Pause on the threshold of any crowded room and size it up.
7. Keep a new acquaintance talking about himself or herself without allowing him to become conscious of it. Turn back any courteous reciprocal questions in a way that your auditor doesn't feel rebuffed.
8. Talk exclusively about yourself and your interests without complaining, boasting, or boring your companions.
9. Cut "I mean" or "As a matter of fact" or any other verbal mannerism out of your conversation.
10. Plan two hours of a day and stick to the plan.
11. Set yourself twelve tasks at random: e.g., go twenty miles from home using ordinary conveyance; go 12 hours without food; go eat a meal in the unlikelist place you can find; say nothing all day except in answer to questions; stay up all night and work.
12. From time to time, give yourself a day when you answer "yes" to any reasonable request.

Homemade Present Ornanment made out of felt!
We did this craft today and we all had a lot of fun! I actually managed all four kids by myself to do this craft so I give it an A+!
It is usually much harder for me to keep all of them interested, so this was great! My best advice is to pre-cut the pieces and make sure to have lots of available choices when it comes to colors and sizes!
What you'll need:
- Red, white, and green felt (We used several other colors also)
- 10” strand yarn any color you would like
- White craft glue or Tacky glue
- Hot glue to attach the yarn to the back of the ornament
- Scissors
- Small pre-made bows (ours were green, red and white)
How to make it:
- Cut a square or rectangle from a piece of any color felt.
- Cut two strips from any color felt, they should equal the length and height of the pre-cut square or rectangle.
- Glue the felt strips to the felt square or rectangle to resemble a Christmas present ribbon.
- Use the small pre-made bows or cut a “bow” from white felt--a simple flower shape will work!
- Glue the bow to the top of the present.
- Fold the yarn in half to create a loop and hot glue to the back of the present.
- Allow to dry completely.
Tips:
- For very small children you can cut the pieces ahead of time. ***This is an awesome tip for those of use with multiple children or younger children! I have four ages 4yrs-11yrs and this made it MUCH easier!!***
- Very Kid friendly except for the hot glue part!
- Children can use any colors that they choose to create their presents.
- Ribbon can be substituted for the yarn and craft foam can be used in place of the felt.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to putting the ornaments on the Christmas tree with all four kids :), tomorrow my plans include adding T-man's hands to the Thankful Tree and making Santa crafts with the kids from toilet paper rolls! lol and Sunday, I want to just hang out with the kids maybe watch a movie and have hot chocolate!

Born to Run? Little Ones Get Tested for Sports Gene............
Uhmmm, is anyone else but me disturbed by this? I personally find this to be very unsettling. What kind of tests will we run next on our offspring? If these tests do not come back the way we want them to, what are we to do, give the child up for adoption and try again for one who will be "more worthy"?
I am not for all these different types of DNA and genetic testing that have come about in recent years. I am all for preventing unnecessary suffering and getting rid of certain diseases, but when we bring it into the "not at all important" area of sports it makes me wonder. Is this really for the child or more to make the parent feel like "Hey, my kid is wonderful at sports - see the genetic testing says so!" In my opinion this is just another way to have competition between parents.
What do you think? Please leave me a comment I would love to see other points of view.
The Article that got me thinking:
BOULDER, Colo. — When Donna Campiglia learned recently that a genetic test might be able to determine which sports suit the talents of her 2 ½-year-old son, Noah, she instantly said, Where can I get it and how much does it cost?
“I could see how some people might think the test would pigeonhole your child into doing fewer sports or being exposed to fewer things, but I still think it’s good to match them with the right activity,” Ms. Campiglia, 36, said as she watched a toddler class at Boulder Indoor Soccer in which Noah struggled to take direction from the coach between juice and potty breaks.
“I think it would prevent a lot of parental frustration,” she said.

Monday Morning Meme
Our Thanksgiving day started out with watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and of course having breakfast. Than we started the Turkey cooking and went to finishing the Thankful Tree for this year! I spent most of the day cooking and getting things ready while the kids spent the whole day playing! We had a great time at Grandma's house for Thanksgiving dinner, the kids were all well behaved throughout dinner and dessert and we got to watch Wall.E! Here is our Thanksgiving day slide show!
2. How is the Christmas/Holiday shopping coming along? Has the economic crunch changed how much you usually spend for Christmas/Holidays? Why or why not? How have you adapted? Did you go shopping on Black Friday? Why or why not? What are your thoughts about how out of control some people behave on Black Friday?
The holiday shopping is coming along well I suppose, but I still have quite a bit to do. The economic crunch has not really changed what we are spending, but we have saved money all year to spend. I did not go shopping on Black Friday for several reasons actually the biggest being that I have some anxiety issues that require me NOT to be in crowds that large!! I feel that people act ridiculous on this particular day possessions are NOT more important than human life. I was so upset about the employee for Walmart that was killed on Friday so fucking senseless!!!
3. How many times a week do you eat fast food? (Be honest!) What do you think about this number? What is your favorite fast food restaurant? Do you think the food you eat there is healthy for you? Do you consciously make healthier choices when you eat out?
Gosh lately like once every few weeks and I feel good about that number! My favorite place to eat out right now is Arby's. Nope I am not even going to pretend that I think it is healthy! lol I try to make better choices when eating out, but that all really depends on quite a few things.
4. Fill in the blank: OMG Monday morning is coming way to quickly!!

The Green Stuff!
Ingredients:
(2) 24oz containers of small curd cottage cheese
(2) 16oz cans Crushed Pineapple, drained
(2) 8oz containers of Cool Whip
(3) pckgs Sugar-Free Lime Jello(use Sugar free because the regular Jello's granules are too large and it will taste funny!)
***This is a double recipe***
Directions:
Thaw out the cool whip first until you are able to stir it this is very important!!! Combine the cottage cheese, drained cans of pineapple, cool whip and mix well. Add the Jello pckgs be careful to make sure the Jello is mixed well. Refrigerate for at least 3hrs and then serve! :)
