Graduation celebration ~psf~
Cameron had his 6th grade graduation ceremony today and I am SO proud of him! I cannot believe that he will be in the 7th grade this next year, it just does not seem like that much time has passed. He's really had a hard time this year adjusting to the differences in middle school, but he has tried really hard and I am so proud of him for making it through this year!
Lined up ready to get their awards.

The Swine Flu and no shaking hands!
Today at Cameron's graduation ceremony from the 6th grade, the Principal was telling us how the whole presentation would go and she let us know that she would not be shaking hands with each child as she gave them their awards because of the Swine Flu. That they have been asked by the district not to shake hands because if she does shake hands with every child by the time she gets to the last kid they will have shaken hands with everyone therefore spreading lots of germs.
I personally think this is crap and that we have lived this long why are we so overly concerned with germs. I mean I do understand the need to be clean and all, but I think this pushes the envelope. After all if we try to shelter ourselves from all germs we will never build up an immunity to those that can really harm us imo.
How do YOU feel about this? Are YOU worried about the Swine Flu?

Alright so I completely lost track of time with all the doctor's appointments etc going on this week and totally forgot to take a picture, so I am gonna cheat just a little bit! lol This picture is of T-man and I having fun at Chuck E Cheese back on the 16th of this month.
I adore that little boy so much and I wish we were able to spend more time with him. Maybe after his mom has the new baby she will let us see him more than just four days a month.
"52 Weeks is a year long challenge for YOU to be in a picture once a week for 52 weeks. We are always the ones behind the camera, this is YOUR chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with our family. Oh, you can just jump in now with 1 of 52, you're not getting off that easy! Now go take a picture!"
To join in on the 52 Weeks challenge or just to see some awesome photos visit Forever in Blue Jeans.

Monday Morning Meme
Hi all, another week is just beginning and it is time for yet another weekly installment of the Monday Morning MeMe!! Karen asks the questions(in blue) and my answers follow(in black)!
1. Rate the level of intensity you have about wanting to know God – no desire, low priority, curious, great desire, high priority, desperate to learn more. Explain your answer.
I guess I would put myself in the curious category. As a child I grew up being force fed a steady diet of religion and so as an adult I am a bit confused as to how I want to more forward.
2. What’s one of your nicknames?
Phoenix
How did you get that nickname?
It is the name I have always used while gaming and so it just kinda stuck.
What do you prefer to be called?
I don't mind being called Phoenix, I quite like it actually.
3. What do you have to have with you when you travel? Why?
My pillows are really the only thing I cannot travel without because I am seriously attached to them and cannot sleep without them!!
4. What do you think about reading books on an electronic reading device?
I have honestly not heard about this, so I must be living under a rock! lol
Do you have an electronic reading device? Do you love it? Why? If you don’t love it, why not?
See above answer.
If you don’t have one, would you consider buying one? Other than the price, tell us another reason why you might not want to own one.
I will have to research it and find out what it is before I can give you an answer. lol

Saturday 9
Crazy Sam over at Saturday 9 posts 9 questions every Saturday. "Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment."
1. Is summer your favorite season? Why?
No summer is not my favorite season, my favorite season is Fall. I love Fall because of how beautiful it is when the leaves change color and start falling off the trees. I also enjoy the fall temperatures much more than Summer.
2. Do you exercise more in the summer because you wear less clothing?
Nope
3. Do you enjoy tanning or are you more concerned about the dangers of basking in the sun?
Tanning is not for me, I am more concerned about the dangers of basking in the sun!
4. You are on the beach when a waiter appears for your drink order. What do you ask for?
A virgin Piña colada of course!
5. Do you camp in the summertime?
Not usually, but I would really like to take the kids this summer.
6. What was your favorite summer vacation as a kid?
I think the most memorable one for me was when we all went to Yellowstone when I was a teenager. It was a lot of fun going with the whole family!
7. Do you enjoy sleeping outdoors?
Not really although I don't mind camping.
8. Do you throw a summer barbecue every year?
Nope
9. Have you ever been to a nude beach? If yes, what did you think?
No I have not been to a nude beach, but when I was a kid we used to go boating at the local lake all the time. Once my dad "accidentally" got too close and drove us past Hippy Hollow, the local nude beach and we all got an eye full! lol

The Friday 5
The topic for today's Friday 5 is Lessons:
1. What kind of out-of-school lessons did you take as a kid?
I took Piano lessons and I had a tutor for math.
2. What valuable lesson did you learn this past week?
That I need to be much more patient and tolerant of others. I will be working a lot harder on that from this point forward.
3. Who in your life really needs to be taught a lesson?
I have just the person in mind, but I am not naming names! lol
4. What kinds of lessons would you love to have a private teacher for right now?
I would love a personal trainer, but that is not really a teacher is it? lol I would love a private teacher to learn Spanish.
5. What steps have you taken to lessen the impact of these rough economic times?
We have cut out pretty much anything that is not really a need. We plan fun activities to do here at home more often and just generally try to watch our spending.

That's the last time I use my head to open the door! ~psf~
This is a picture of Spunky's first black eye that she received while playing with Princess on the couch. You see we live in Texas and so our winters are very mild, but some years we have flurries that coat the ground with a nice bit of frost. This particular year we happened to get some of that frost and the kids were out of school for two days after a normal weekend.
They were going crazy after being inside for most of four days and so to burn some energy the girls were jumping on the couch. Normally this would not be something I would allow, but they HAD to do something! lol Not 10 minutes after they started playing Spunky's face connected with Princesses head and all kinds of chaos broke out! I felt awful for her, but she thought it was pretty cool! lol

Tell Me Thursday
This week's Wordless Wednesday picture was one taken this weekend at Cameron's Chuck E Cheese birthday party. It is of him and the HUGE musical birthday card Grandma gave him! It is the funniest card ever!
Spunky having a blast!!!
These are the sugar cookies covered in chocolate icing and sprinkles that the kids and I made! I hate cookies so I did not taste them, but I was told they were not very good, but much better because of the chocolate frosting! LOL!Click here for the original WW photo and if you would like to join in the fun and tell the back story to your Wordless Wednesday post or just to read the stories behind others photos please visit Tell Me Thursday!

"We pick a subject, and your job is to interpret it anyway you want. Write about it on your blog... simple as that. Maybe you can interpret it as a picture - we don't care!"
Now on to the questions and of course my answers!
1. Have you seen the new Star Trek movie, and if so what did you think?
Nope I have not seen it yet, but I really really want to!
2. Which popular sitcom character (past or present) are you most like?
I am struggling with this, I guess I am a bit Roseanne, a bit Elaine from Seinfeld and a bit Peg Bundy! hahaha
3. What kind of dreams do you have?
Usually very vivid ones that I remember when I wake up. Lately they have been of me trying to run away from something or trying to save a loved one from something, fun stuff.....
4. Bugger it. Go get a tattoo and come back. Right, now answer me this, what ees eet?
A variation of the girl in the picture below about 5 inches wide and 4 inches tall.5. Do you think you could be on American Idol with the singing voice you have now without any voice training?
LMAO not a chance!
6. How much wood, would a woodchuck chuck? If a woodchuck could chuck wood?
About as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood!
7. If you were a tree in a Dr. Seuss book, what would you look like?
I would be tall and a medium purple color with bright Orange leaves, yes very gaudy! lol
8. Twilight? I'm addicted/Who cares/What the hell is Twilight?
Who cares!!
9. Do you think Kimber and Berleen do a dube while writing these questions?
LMAO maybe, anything is possible!
10. What the worst injury you've ever had?
I broke my leg in two spots and my ankle, I also tore all my ligaments in the process. This all happened back in 2001 when I walked out of my house to grab something off the porch while carrying Princess who was a baby at the time. It took me lots of stiches, two surgeries, one metal plate and six months to recover.
11. What is your favorite dessert?
Key Lime pie or Angel Food cake
12. What do you prefer...beach or mountains?
Mountains
13. What movie have you seen that still make you cry?
Pretty much any movie makes me cry anymore.......
14. Why are you making me submit a question? Are you too lazy to think of one yourself?
Hummm good question. lol
15. How often do you do laundry?
I try to do some every freaking day and it still is never done!
16. What is your favorite movie of all time, and why?
Alright look this is an impossible question for me to answer because it changes frequently! Currently it's Nick and Norah's Infinite Play List because it is just awesome!
17. If you won a million dollars in the lottery, would you keep working?
I honestly don't know.
18. If there was a war of the gummies, would you be on the gummi bear side or the gummi worm side?
I am going to go with the Gummi bear side because all the boys in the house picked worm and all the girls picked bear! lol
19. What's your favorite comic strip?
Blondie and Dagwood :)
20. Close your eyes… imagine you are in the perfect room/place… describe it.
A nice study with bookshelves full of books, a drawing table in the corner and a computer desk on the other side. A nice plush chair to sit in to read books and a nice big lamp to illuminate it all. I would want the colors to be neutrals with splashes of red.

Cats and the offerings they bring.
Well it definitely appears to be springtime! Max left a dead frog for us on the back porch and Jeremy stepped on it when he went out to have a cigarette. lol She came in and tried to tell me but I did not understand what she wanted because she does not normally meow at me like that. It was the funniest thing to watch Jeremy hop around on one foot going "Ewwwwww!", he had to go wash his foot afterward. lol
I let Max out when I realized what had happened and she of course proceeded to eat the dead frog. YUCK! I guess it is that time again to start watching out for what's on the porch after dark! I really wish I had thought to get a picture of the dead frog although I am quite sure none of you would have wanted to see it!

Manic Monday #168
If you could completely redecorate any room in your house at no expense to you, what room would you choose?
The living room for sure, that would be so awesome!!!
Which hour of the day do you feel goes the slowest?
5 PM
If your birthday could be in a different month of the year, when would you have it?
I am thinking March because it would really help space the birthdays out. Which would make it easier to be able to celebrate all of them better.

Monday Morning Meme
Hi all, another week is just beginning and it is time for yet another weekly installment of the Monday Morning MeMe!! Karen asks the questions(in blue) and my answers follow(in black)!
1. When and how often do you pray?
I need to pray more often, but I struggle with my faith from day to day. I make sure to pray when a friend/family member asks for prayers for a family member or friend regardless of the situation. I pray when I am scared for one of my children or a friend's child or if they are having surgery etc.
What motivates you to pray?
I am motivated to pray whenever I feel something is completely out of our hands and only in God's. He makes those decisions for us and I want him to know I am listening.
2. You’re giving the keynote address to the graduating seniors of a high school today. What’s your advice to them?
You are not the center of the universe. Helping people will get you farther than hurting them. Never hesitate to learn to do something new, however small and silly it may be or absurdly basic. Do what makes you happy. Don't live your parents' dream for you. At the end of the day it's your life, not theirs.
Do what feels right and make your own mistakes! If you don't, you will always regret not doing everything you always wanted to do. Don't sweat the small stuff. Life is too short to be worried all the time. Love everyone, love yourself, stay positive, keep dreaming and keep learning.
3. Which musician and/or band do you think is past their prime? Who do you think should hang up the mic and musical instruments and call it day?
Seriously, any band associated with a reality show should shut it down.
4. What photos are on your camera right now? You know, the ones that you haven’t downloaded or had developed yet? Please share a few of those photos with us.

These are a few photos from last night after our long day at Chuck E Cheese. lol
This is from last night and it is what happens when you leave two almost teenagers to their own devices until after 2am. His room was a freaking mess and the sheets on the mattresses disappeared. They are supposed to pull the bottom mattress out to sleep on it, but Lyric decided just to crawl right on in!! lol I hope he did not hit his head when he woke up!
