Potato Goulash
The boy has been taking a foreign language class at school this year. They have been learning Spanish, French, German and I think that may be all I am not really sure! lol Right now they are studying German which I think is really neat.
His latest assignment due today is for him to find an Austrian main dish recipe and write it down to bring to class. Also if they cook the dish and bring it to class than the teacher will replace their worst test grade with a 100! So the boy just had to do it even though he does awesome in that class, below you will find the recipe he decided to go with. It was really easy and it is super yummy!
Ingredients:
* 1 large onion
* 1 tablespoon paprika
* 5 Potatoes (chopped into chunks)
* 3/4 garlic clove
* 2 small chopped Tomato's
* 1 teaspoon vinegar
* 1 beef stock cube or vegetable stock cube
* Marjoram
* Caraway seed
**We added 1pckg of Smoked Sausage to the recipe cut into small cubes**
Directions:
1. Brown the onions in oil.
2. Add paprika to the onions (add as much as you like depending on how spicy you want it to be). Let it melt into the centre of the onions before stirring it inches.
3. Add potatoes to the onions and turn up the heat to cook them.
4. Add the garlic.
5. Add the tomatoes and sausage.
6. Add the vinegar.
7. Add a sprinkling of Marjoram and Caraway Seeds.
8. Season with salt and pepper.
9. Leave simmering on a low heat for at least 1 and a half hours. Just until the potatoes are soft and the liquid has become quite thick and heavy.
The boy found the recipe here at Recipezaar if you would like to check it out!

50's Day and the finished Poodle skirt!! :)
I made a slide show from today's 50's Day and Dance! It was really fun and all the kids looked really cute. They did The Hand Jive and The Stroll, it was so funny to watch the kids. This one little boy ran through all the other kids to the end when it was his turn instead of dancing down the line! lol Too freaking cute I laughed damn near the whole time! Spunkmeister decided to come watch Princess dance and she really got a kick out watching the kids and danced a bit herself!

I found this while reading over at Chocolate the Other white meat and just had to take the quiz myself! Here are my results!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Happy birthday to Me!
Happy birthday to Me!
Happy birthday to Me!!!!!
Happy birthday to Me! lol
Today is my birthday and I seriously cannot believe I am 32yrs old!! It does not seem like I was 18yrs old 14yrs ago WTF!?! lol My hair is going silver not gray mind you and it does not bother me, I actually quite like it! My mind is going nuts, but I think that has more to do with my four kids all 11yrs and younger than with me getting older! lol
I am though feeling quite weird about this birthday like I am crossing some sort of weird bridge. Turning 30 did not bother me I made sure of that and last year turning 31 was also no big deal. For some reason though this year the big 32 has my stomach turning loops! I think maybe it has more to do with the fact that I have not accomplished even half of what I had thought I would or that I had planned for myself. I struggle to make myself better everyday, but somehow it never feels like enough. I am very happy and blessed to have my family and friends, I love you all! :)

The Poodle Skirt part 2
I finished the Poodle skirt this afternoon for Princess's 50's Day/Dance at school tomorrow! Boy what a project that was to do without a sewing machine!! lol It took me about 2hrs to do all the sewing by hand which really was not all that much. It has been forever since I have sewn anything so I was a bit slower than usual.
All in all this was a pretty easy project and was relatively inexpensive to make. When I sit down to make Spunkmeister her Poodle skirt later on this week it will be much easier the second time around! Here is the How To site I used for directions on how to make the skirt. If you ever give this a try and need any help please feel free to ask me! I would love to help! :) Oh and of course be on the lookout for pictures from her 50's Day/Dance!

and the final product!!!

The Poodle Skirt!
Tonight I started the process of making Princess a Poodle Skirt for her school's 50's day on Tuesday. You would think that starting two days in advance would be enough time to get it done right? lol Mom(Grandma) and I got the skirt cut out and all ready then I realized I forgot to buy hot pink thread! I did not even think about it!!!
So I have a list of things to get at the fabric store tomorrow one of which includes the correct size elastic and of course hot pink thread! Tomorrow early afternoon I will sew up the waistband and add the trim. Then I will go over to Grandma's and start on the poodle with all my leftover felt from previous projects! I still of course have to figure out what shirt she is going to wear with the skirt we just made cause I do not wanna go out and buy one, but I we will figure it out! lol

Happy Halloween All!! :)
I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween night! We had a really fun evening here. We met up with a few friends from the kids school at the local church, then went door to door for about an hour. The kids all had a great time and got lots of candy. The church we go to is awesome they have so many activities for the kids and they serve free food and drinks. Having them not more than a mile away is also like the greatest thing ever! :) Here is a slide show from our evening at the church and before we left to go trick or treating!
